Plus - stair climbing, always standing at the computer, lots of major household projects so non-stop activity, long walks carrying weights
Minus - stopped the military excercises.
Getting a lot of headaches due to looking up at the ceiling for hours (household tasks) = headaches. The pills have a lot of salt = weight gain
------------------------------------
Stairs. If I need to go up or downstairs I try to always add a few extra times. When I remember (like now) I do 12 at once. Must keep that up.

Usual Excercise
Normally I go on long daily walks, excercise to music - put on the tv and dance or do specific excercises on and off throughout the day.
For many years I used the powerstretcher - the elastic thingy with handles that is advertised as 'just 7 mins a day'. I've stopped that as I think that it aggravated my shoulders.
I'm also a fan of a routine of fast excercises mentioned in my second post (ezine articles). It's a combination of stair running, star jumps, running on the spot, weights and press ups. Each done for a very short time each and alternated.
I'm not really up to press ups on the ground so instead I do them against the stairs. I think that I must have got fitter recently as I can run up the stairs more times than before in the set time.
Onwards and upwards!
I've just re-read that article and realised that I've been missing out the sit-ups. Never mind.

Couch Potato no More
My weekly weigh-in reminded me that I'm spending too much time sitting down. For some years now my normal routines have been changing with the outcome of too much inactivity.
Although I didn't put on any weight, I've been the same for over a month even with all the excercise that I do.
I mentioned this to the doctor and they're giving me tests for thyroid. But I reckon it's down to the couch!
So it's time to change my routine and get active.

I am captivated by freerunning and Parkour.
So, I'm not in my first flush of youth (by any stretch of the imagination) a bit overweight, unfit. Female! So what?
Plus side -
1. I've been excercising/walking for years
2. The sheer energy I see in the videos is a huge motivator
3. I don't give up
Minus -
1. Marial arts training - Tang Soo Doo/ballet/tai chi caused severe knee problems
2. A recent run reminded me of the reasons I gave up the above hobbies.
Ok, so I can walk fast instead. No need to give up at the first hurdle.
